- How is NSSF calculated in Kenya?
- NSSF is contributed on pensionable pay in two tiers: Tier I on pay up to the lower earnings limit, and Tier II from the lower to the upper earnings limit. The employee is deducted a percentage and the employer matches it. Pay above the upper limit is not subject to NSSF.
- Does the employer also pay NSSF?
- Yes. The employer matches the employee contribution tier for tier. This calculator shows both sides and the total going to NSSF, with the rate's source and effective date.
